Farewell to Jim

At our last concert of the 2025-6 year we bade farewell to our one member who had been with us since the choir was founded in 1978, Jim Watson, who has supported the tenor line for us for over 40 years. He has sung many tenor solos, and without listing all the concerts in that time, he will have sung in several hundred concerts with our three musical directors, Brian Greensill, Roger Wilkes, and our present director Margaret Corlett. One of the great assets of any choir is its group of long standing members, like Jim, who will be so familiar with the choir's repertoire that they are a great support for new members and enable the musical director continually to build on the choir's musical memory, which helps to give every choir its unique sound. As you can see from the pictures below, we presented Jim with a farewell cake, which didn't last very long!
